This article explains how parliamentary democracy (PD) has sustained the rule of the capitalist class over more than a century. It focuses on Britain. How PD has enabled the ruling class to survive two world wars and innumerable other wars, two depressions and innumerable recessions, the Russian Revolution, the General Strike and the loss of Empire. Finally, it is worth mentioning the role of propaganda. After the General Strike in 1926 the government recognised the need for a state broadcaster – BBC – to be used artistically and creatively to convey the ruling ideas of the ruling class into the living room of every house.

Regarding the specific idea I quoted earlier, you will find sufficient arguments and evidence demonstrating that the political superstructure (parliamentary parties under capitalism) has not always favored the capitalist class over the last century. Marx’s notion that politics acts as the board of directors for capitalism holds 100% true only during the regressive phase of the 1917 socialist REC (Revolutionary Economic Cycle)—a regressive phase that began in the 1980s. I’m happy to let you know that I’ve finished the book I’ve mentioned to you several times: *2035–2045: Russia and China Amidst the Collapse of Capitalism and the Rise of Egalitarian Socialism*. Its subtitle is: *Discovering RECs (Revolutionary Economic Cycles): Karl Marx and Rosa Luxemburg Were Right*. It is 519 pages long (I practically left half my brain in it—spoken in jest). I have the Spanish version, and I should have the English one in a couple of weeks. The book is currently in the publication phase (contacting publishers, Amazon, etc.).
