Comrade do you have a critique of Michael Roberts position on the character of the Chinese economy? “We know what is possible when we do what is necessary”
Sorry for the delay, helped organise a Palestinian Solidarity protest in my city today. I have scattered criticisms of Michael’s hybrid position in my various articles but no dedicated article critiquing his position. My position is clear, China is a capitalist market economy with a large state sector and with significant though overstated state direction. One caveat. While I do not suggest an antagonism between the CCP and the Capitalist class, I do recognise that without the presence of the CCP, China would not have emerged as the dominant industrial economy in the world today.
I am not pro capitalist Russia nor pro-BRICS rather my articles reflect reality. The fact that Trump was knocked back in Alaska proves the stability of BRICS and proves Roberts wrong. You are quite right. I expected a shorter war but then I misread Russia’s intentions that is to use a war of attrition to depopulate Ukraine of fighting age men and women. According to Douglas McGreggor Ukraine has lost £1.8 million soldiers. That is likely to be a casualty rate of 50% which is far higher than the Wehrmacht and approaching that of the the Red Army in early WW2.

I think I made my position clear on Roberts’ blog when it was possible to comment but all those comments are for nought.

Re: Monica Lewinsky: does everybody know what APAC means?
Please explain who she was. These days one assumes if someone does not know who she is they will Google her.
nothing about APAC
Yes that was an omission given it’s strategic role
