According to the Hindustan Times, Israeli officials have been recorded saying that they cannot win the war as long as UNWRA continues to feed the Palestinians in Gaza. Thus this smearing and resulting defunding of UNWRA must be seen as part of the war on the Palestinians aimed at starving them into submission. It proves once and for all that it is not only Israel, but Western Imperialism itself, which is guilty of genocide.

The general consensus amongst progressive/left commentary on the ICJ ruling appears to be quite positive about its ruling, of Israel’s actions being ‘almost’ genocide but I tend to agree with Brian Green here that the ruling is a total copout, for while it condemns Israel’s actions, it does nothing to actually stop Israel’s geoicide, in words, let alone actions and in fact, gives Israel breathing space to continue the carnage! Thirty days in fact.
On the positive side, it is a setback for the USUK and it’s poodles but the withdrawal of funding from UNWRA shows the vindictive nature of the five main contributors to its funding. I think a showdown is coming.
