Thanks for another interesting and informative post.
“No doubt tens of billions in speculative “capital” was destroyed”.
My guess is that losses amounted to “at least” $53 billions which is the amount the NY Fed pumped via Repo on Tuesday (today). This liquidity panic was one of the aftershocks of the Quant Quake 2.0. Overnight general collateral repo exploded to funding rate of 10%. Fictitious capital destruction. The next credit crunch in the making? For now the Fed managed to bail out. What’s next?
