PAMPHLET: UNDERSTANDING THE FAILURE OF THE USSR THROUGH THE PRISM OF CAPITALISM.

This is my shortened pamphlet first published in 1999. It is written for workers not academics. Without deviating from Marx’s methodologies, it uses simple explanations about capitalism found in the underlay of Das Kapital. It has been tested in discussion circles with workers and found to be adequately informative. What is novel about this pamphlet is its use of graphs to visualise complex transfers of value and the growth of constant capital to visually explain the tendency for the rate of profit to fall. Contained within it in Chapter 2 which analyses the USSR, was the first explanation why the use of profit is always counterproductive in an economy where production is for use not exchange. This amongst many other insights. It is well worth reading, and not only reading but circulating.
